Two dead in apparent murder-suicide at Rome Chick-Fil-A
ROME, Ga. (WDEF) — An apparent murder-suicide took place at a Chick-Fil-A restaurant in Rome, Georgia on Wednesday. Officers said it was a shooting, which took place at the Truett’s Chick-Fil-A on Shorter Avenue.
Greg Major, the general manager of this restaurant, took to social media after the incident.
“A horrific incident occurred outside our restaurant this morning. We are currently cooperating with police who are investigating,” Major said. “No other guests or Team Members were hurt, but we mourn with the community. We have closed the restaurant for the day to repair and care for Team Members. Thank you for your patience during this time, we plan to reopen tomorrow.”
Police identified the two involved as 56-year-old Wayne Green and 39-year-old Cassie Lashae Davis. They were in a domestic relationship as well, according to an Atlanta affiliate.
Police also reported that the incident took place in their vehicle in the Chick-Fil-A parking lot.
