Two individuals taken into custody following vehicle pursuit
SWEETWATER, Tenn. — Two people have been taken into custody following a vehicle pursuit that spanned multiple counties on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
The Sweetwater Police Department (SPD) says officers set up at both I-75 exits and deployed stop sticks, ultimately disabling the suspect vehicle.
Both occupants were safely taken into custody without further incident at exit 60.
The driver that was taken into custody was identified as Mista Julius McCary.
McCary was charged with the following:
• 2 counts of Manufacture, Sell, or Delivery of a Schedule II Controlled Substance• Simple Possession/Casual Exchange• Reckless Endangerment• Felony Evading Arrest• Tampering with or Fabricating Evidence• Driving on a Revoked or Suspended License
