Two local road projects pushed back, again.

RED BANK/ROSSVILLE (WDEF) – Two local road projects have been pushed back, one for a few weeks, the other for months.

The city of Red Bank is once again delaying the completion of the Ashland Terrace road project.

Crews are working on the crumbling culvert over the creek as the road meets Dayton Boulevard.

It was originally scheduled to be finished in early December, then push back a week or two.

Now the new completion date is January 4th.

The city blames more rain and cold temperatures, along with holiday schedules.

The National Park Service also announced a road project has been delayed.

This one involves McFarland Gap Road leading out from the Chickamauga Battlefield toward Rossville.

They found more problems when they removed the asphalt.

“The original design created by the Federal Highways Administration had to be altered to meet the site conditions that were discovered.”

The are repaving the road from the Fort Oglethorpe entrance to White Row Road.

The project started in September and was scheduled to re-open this weekend.

But now the project, including road closures, will continue through April 15, 2019.
