Two Motorcyclists Killed By Drunken Driver, Coroner Confirms

WHITFIELD, CO., Ga (WDEF) – Two motorcyclists were killed Sunday night after being hit head-on by a drunken driver.

According to the Whitfield County Coroner, Westley Cummings, 52, and Wanda Cummings, 49, of Chatsworth, Georgia were riding on Dawnville Road when a car drove over the center line and hit them near Renfroe Road.

The man and woman were thrown from the bike and landing onto the pavement; the bike skidded off the roadway. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of that car — 60 year old Gary Cooper of Crandall, Tennessee — was arrested at the scene for DUI and driving under a suspended license.

That driver is likely to be charged with vehicular homicide charges, according to reports.

Animal Control was called to the scene because somehow a Chihuahua was involved in the crash.
