Two people arrested in overdose death

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – It happened just over three months ago.

That’s when 29-year-old Dustin Lowrance was found dead inside a motel room on Williams Street.

The Medical Examiner determined he died from a toxic level of opioids.

Police say they found that Monica Dunn and Wilmer Sherrard supplied the opioids, and were actually there when Lowrance overdosed.

Now, they face 2nd Degree Murder charges.

Lowrance’s fiancee Brittany Bruce released the following statement to News 12:

“On March 8th I received a phone call that Dusty had passed away. Dusty was in drug court and had changed his entire life. We are grateful for CPD and drug court staff for investigating his death and attempting to bring our family some closure. Our 4 children and I miss him every single day and life will never be the same without him. We pray for everyone involved and hope Dusty’s story will bring awareness. If you are struggling please reach out and ask for help so your family doesn’t have to feel this pain. Please pray for us during this ongoing investigation.”

As for Dunn and Sherrard, they’re already in jail on other charges, and face more warrants in Dade and Walker counties.
