Two people rescued in an East Ridge residential fire
EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF) – Two people got trapped in a home during a fire in East Ridge overnight.
The fire happened around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The East Ridge Fire Department, East Ridge Police and East Ridge EMS arrived at the home on 1605 East Ridge Avenue.
The fire department says smoke was coming from the residence with two occupants trapped inside.
A rescue operation began, and firefighters found one resident near the back door and the other on the kitchen floor.
EMS provided immediate medical attention and took the two occupants to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The firefighters put out the fire that was in the kitchen.
At the time of investigation, fire officials deemed the fire as accidental.
