Two residents rescued from burning home in Alton Park
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A man and a woman were rescued from a burning house Monday morning in Alton Park.
Chattanooga firefighters responded to the scene just after 7:00 a.m.

Flames spread at the home in the 4100 block of Fagan Street.
CFD reports the two were trying to get out of the house when they suffered from smoke inhalation.
They believed others might have also been in the duplex at the time. Police officers evacuated remaining family on the other side of the home.
Firefighters got the victims out of the home and extinguished the flames.
They were taken to the hospital with serious smoke inhalation injuries.
The fire was under control nearly forty minutes later.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
