Two separate car accidents result in fatalities

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — There were two fatalities in Hamilton County on Sunday, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. The two fatalities were separate incidents, both being vehicle accidents.

One accident happened on the 9300 block of East Brainerd Road shortly before 1 p.m. Officers said this accident was a two-vehicle collision.

They said occupants in both vehicles were taken to the hospital by Hamilton County EMS.

Jacob Lipski, 23, was one of the drivers in the crash. HCSO said he died at the hospital from his injuries.

The second accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Dolly Pond Road. Hamilton County officers said this incident was a single-vehicle crash.

They said this vehicle only had one occupant.

Derek Wiley, 34, was taken to a hospital by Lifeforce. However, police said he died at the hospital from his injuries.

HCSO said both incidents are still under investigation.
