Two wildfires impact North Georgia on Thursday morning

DADE COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — Two wildfires broke out Thursday morning in north Georgia. One of which was in Catoosa County and the other was in Dade County.

According to Dade County Emergency Management, the Georgia Forestry is still currently working to extinguish a fire in Trenton. This fire is near Back Valley Road.

A Forestry helicopter is assisting other emergency crews in extinguishing the wildfire. The Emergency Management is alerting the public of their presence. They say no buildings are currently involved in this blaze.

In addition, the Catoosa County Fire Department said their crews helped extinguished a brush fire Thursday morning. This fire happened on Highway 41, near the Summit Hill area.

The Georgia Forestry assisted in extinguishing this blaze as well. The fire department said the Forestry created a fire break around the area. However, they said it will continue to smoke throughout the day.
