TWRA officers catch alligator in Rhea County, Tennessee

RHEA COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Officers with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) trapped a loose alligator in Rhea County recently.

Now, TWRA says they are transporting the alligator to the Chattanooga Zoo.

In a social media post, TWRA explains that alligators are not normal for this area. They are asking the public to not dump their pets in the wild.

The post then goes on to mention the rivalry college football game coming up this weekend between the Tennessee Volunteers and the Florida Gators.
