Tyner Middle School student arrested after making verbal threat

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) —  The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reported a Tyner Middle School student was arrested for threatening mass violence.

At 1:00 p.m., September 11, 2024, the School Resource Deputy (SRD) assigned to Tyner Middle School was made aware of a student who verbally threatened to “shoot the school up”.

The SRD was able to get multiple statements from students who heard the threat.

The student who made the threat was arrested and taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center where they were charged with Threat of Mass Violence.
