U.S. Xpress cutting more jobs

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – FreightWaves reports that U.S. Xpress is making another round of job cuts at their corporate offices in Chattanooga.

The second round is another 5% of their staff.

That’s about 140 jobs cuts since May.

U.S. Xpress says they are trying to become more lean in their operations to become a more competitive company.

No drivers have been affected by the layoffs.

FreightWaves reports the latest news follows another down earnings report and the departure of company executives.
