UAW Files Complaint Against Volkswagen

The United Auto Workers claims Volkswagen has failed to consult with a newly elected maintenance workers union on a range of issues from vending machine prices to out-of-pocket prescription drug costs.

In filings with the National Labor Relations Board, the union also claims that a black employee was fired for taking photographs to support a claim of workplace discrimination.

The UAW also says Volkswagen is making workplace changes without consulting the 165-member maintenance union.

VW is appealing the decision that allowed such a small union to form at a plant with thousands of workers.
