Unemployment Rate Drops in Dalton


Dalton, GA (WDEF) – The Georgia Department of Labor reports another drop last month in the unemployment rate for Dalton.

The city’s jobless rate fell to 7.1% in February after a 7.9% mark in January.

Dalton gained 200 jobs in February, mostly in textiles and state government.

The city’s economy has made large gains over the last year, when it led the state in unemployment.

Dalton has gained 3,600 jobs since February of 2014.

And the area is now .2 percent below the highest jobless mark in Georgia.
