Union Gospel Mission to serve Easter community dinner for those in need
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Union Gospel Mission will host an Easter Community Dinner for unhoused individuals and community members in need on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
The event will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the front lawn of the Bessie Smith Cultural Center, located at 200 E. MLK Blvd. in Chattanooga.
“With the help of our community, we expect to serve well over 400 warm Easter meals while sharing the message of Christ’s resurrection and the hope it brings. This year, we are seeing a growing need, with officials reporting higher levels of homelessness than in previous years. We are prepared to serve and trust that our community will step forward to support this effort.”
– Rev. Jon Rector, Executive Director of the Union Gospel Mission said.
They share that volunteers are needed to assist with meal service, and donations of “blessing bags” are still being accepted.
These bags should include items such as toiletries, sunscreen, socks, and snacks for distribution.
