Upcoming Giving Tuesday Supports Local Families

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday, and two Chattanooga nonprofits are asking the community to step up and help families in need this holiday season.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Chattanooga is encouraging residents to purchase 2025 Holiday Food Gift Cards.

These cards are added to a family’s presents when donors drop off gifts at the club’s office, and they can also be given on their own.

Staff say even a single food card makes a big difference for a child or family, helping ensure they have meals during the holidays.

Donors also receive a letter acknowledging their contribution.

Signal Centers is also calling on the community for support.

They are raising funds to install a fully accessible, state-of-the-art audiology booth at The Speech & Hearing Center.

The upgrade will allow children, adults, and seniors to receive accurate hearing evaluations in a safe, modern space.

Hearing loss affects one in three older adults and three in every thousand children, and cost often keeps families from receiving care.

As Chattanooga’s only nonprofit specializing in communication disorders, Signal Centers ensures no one is turned away.

And for Giving Tuesday, donations have an added incentive, if Signal Centers reaches $10,000 in donations, that amount will be matched, doubling the impact of the community’s support.

Both organizations say Giving Tuesday contributions provide critical support for families across Chattanooga.

From helping families put food on the table to expanding access to hearing evaluations, hearing aids, and speech therapy, every gift stays local and directly benefits neighbors in the community.

Organizers encourage residents to plan ahead and make their contributions tomorrow, so more families can receive the support they need this holiday season.
