Upcoming roadwork around Hamilton County
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Tennessee Department of Transportation released a list of current and upcoming lane and road closures due to construction or maintenance.
Concrete repair
Construction crews will be doing concrete repair on I-24 from Monday night through Wednesday night, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. The repairs will take place from the US-27 ramps to east of Long Street.
During this time, there will be lane closures on I-24 and on the westbound off ramp to US-27 north. There may also be ramp closures as well.
Interchange reconstruction
Each night there will be lane closures on I-75 at the I-24 interchange. The lane closures will last from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. on I-75 north and south, between Exit 1 and Exit 3A.
There will also be lane closures on I-24 east and west from Germantown Road to Spring Creek Road.
Crews may implement rolling roadblocks as well.
There will be lane closures on North and South Terrace between Belvoir Avenue and Spring Creek Road for other construction.
Moore Road and McBrien Road bridges over I-24 are still closed. The entrance and exit ramps to I-24 between Belvoir Avenue and Moore Road are closed as well. These closures and detours will last about seven months, according to TDOT.
There will be temporary lane closures on Sunday night, January 7, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. both north and southbound. This will be between mile marker 7 and mile marker 4.
Utility work
There will be shoulder and lane closures on Dodds Avenue between McCallie Avenue and E 19th Street from January 4 until January 10. Utility work will take place between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
There will be a lane closure on E 23rd Street between S. Lyerly Street and 4th Avenue from January 8 until January 12. This work will take place between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Utility work will also take place on Mahan Gap Road with shoulder and lane closures between Ooltewah Georgetown Road and Owl Hollow Road. This will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. until March 7.
Improvement project
There will be lane closures on Apison Pike from Ooltewah-Ringgold Road to east of Layton Lane for utility and grading work. Road work will take place on weekdays through January 10, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
