UPDATE: Dalton rape investigation

WDEF first told you about this charge on Sunday.

27-year-old Patrick Collins Nix of Cohutta is charged with sexual assault by an employee of a health care facility.

Officials say a patient at the facility says that Nix came into her room on shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday and started having sex with her.

She reported the incident to the staff around 10 that morning.

Staff reported it to the police.

Dalton Police found evidence of sexual contact between Nix and the victim.

In Georgia, it’s illegal for healthcare facility employees to have sex with their patients whom they have supervisory authority over.

Authorities arrested Nix Saturday evening.

Dalton Police say the investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
