Update: Early morning shooting
Update: Chattanooga Police say 18-year-old Charles Melton was the victim in the shooting.
It happened in the 2100 block of Wilder Street.
Melton told police the driver of a passing vehicle brandished a firearm and began shooting. Officials said he was struck by the gunfire and transported via personal vehicle to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
No suspect information is available.

Police found a male party suffering a gunshot wound at a local hospital.
