Update on Flood Relief in Chattooga County
Governor will tour Summerville on Wednesday
SUMMERVILLE, Georgia (WDEF) – The water is going down but the need is still great in northwest Georgia from this weekend’s flooding.
Governor Kemp and his wife will visit Summerville Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, water, food and shelter provisions continues to head to the flood zone.

And there are emergency PODs located now at Summerville City Hall, North Summerville Baptist Church and other independent locations.
Also the Trion Recreation Department has showers available to anyone in need.
Horizon Baptist Fellowship will hand out water Wed. 11:30 AM across from High School.
South Summerville Baptist Church will have 300 meals available starting at 5 pm
Work continues on pumps at the Mohawk plant in Summerville which was closed by flooding. They also are using fans to dry out electric valves in the plant.
The city of Menlo, Georgia ran out of water on Tuesday afternoon. A water buffalo is at City Hall right now, but that will probably run dry later tonight.
