Update on Highway 64 crash in Cleveland

UPDATE:

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) has provided more information into the fiery crash that occurred on Highway 64 in Cleveland on Wednesday.

According to their report, one person died in the crash, and another was injured. A 17-year-old passed away from the incident.

A 59-year-old from Florida was injured in the accident as well.

The THP report explained the dump truck was traveling westbound on Highway 64 when the Ford truck pulled out in front of it.

The dump truck was unable to avoid the collision, according to the THP.


EARLIER:

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) — A crash in Cleveland on Wednesday left a dump truck engulfed in flames.

The photos show a red and black dump truck on fire in the median. In front of the truck is a demolished blue vehicle.

It happened on Highway 64 at the intersection of Cherokee Drive.

It happened sometime between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

The wreck caused the eastbound left lane to be closed.

The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office confirmed there was a serious crash at this location. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.

We currently do not know the status of the drivers. However, we will continue to update as we learn more.
