Update on wildfires in Northwest Georgia
ATLANTA, Georgia (WDEF) – Georgia Forestry is updating the fires they are fighting in northwest Georgia.
They got 23 more fires since yesterday, in addition to what is already burning.
The Rough Ridge Fire in the Cohutta Wilderness continues to grown.
You can now see the smoke from several areas in North Georgia, including the Conasauga River.
The fire is now over 5,000 acres.
The Fox Mountain Fire south of Rising Fawn is picking up again with winds increasing over the next few days.
Crews continue to watch it and are ready to respond when necessary.
