UPDATE: Pedestrian hit and killed on Moccasin Bend Road

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police are asking for the anyone who witnessed a pedestrian hit on Moccasin Bend Road Saturday night to come forward.

The former employer of the victim 28-year-old Cameron Bean confirmed online that he passed away from his injuries.

Chattanooga Police continue to investigate.

They did a follow up interview with the driver 58-year-old Valerie Bray.

They’re collecting all electronic data.

They’re also reconstructing the crash.

That will verify the exact driving conditions and the cause of the incident.

Bray had originally told police that the sun was in her eyes, and she couldn’t see Bean running on the side of the road.

Officials say the preliminary information still requires a more extensive review by investigators.

Police say any charges are pending further investigation, as with an traffic incident.

They say they would have to have the information to prove negligence and/or intent.
