UPDATE: Suspect arrested in South Willow Street shooting

UPDATE:  Chattanooga Police quickly made an arrest in the city’s latest shooting Thursday.

Around 2:30 in the morning, police say 51-year-old Willie Woodruff approached 36-year-old Michael Shaw at King’s Lodge.

Woodruff reportedly asked Shaw for ride to the store, so he could buy beer.

In the process, police say Woodruff used Shaw’s gun and shot him in the arm and hip.

That happened near 18-hundred South Willow Street.

Woodruff has been charged with aggravated assault and theft over $500.

Chattanooga Police were called to the scene of an early morning shooting..

Around 2:30 this morning, police responded to the 1700 of South Willow Street.

According to dispatch, a person was shot.
