UPDATE: Woman Killed on Chestnut Street, Southside Social Closes

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police have released the names of the victims in Sunday morning’s shooting on Chestnut Street.

According to police, 21-year-old Cachet Peterson died from her injuries.

Chattanooga Police also say 24-year-old Tiana Linares was injured. At last update, police said she was in stable condition at a local hospital.

Chattanooga Police are asking anyone with information to call the Homicide Tip Line at 423-643-5100. They say callers can remain anonymous.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A woman was killed in an early morning shooting outside of Southside Social on Chestnut Street in Chattanooga Sunday morning.

When police arrived, they say they found two female victims in a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.

Hamilton County EMS transported both woman to a local hospital where the first victim died from her injuries.

The second victim is listed in stable condition. Their names are being withheld until notification of kin has been made.

Patrons exiting Southside Social at the time of the incident stated that a dark-colored vehicle was traveling southbound on Chestnut Street when a party in that vehicle fired shots into the victim’s vehicle, which was traveling northbound.

Police say there is no suspect information is available at this time.

The Chattanooga Police Department is urging anyone with further information to call the Homicide Tip Line at 423-643-5100.

Callers can remain anonymous and all tips go directly to investigators. Chattanooga Police can also be reached at 423-698-2525.

Southside Social spokesperson Albert Waterhouse released the following statement: “In response to the shooting on the street outside Southside Social early this morning, the management is closing the establishment until further notice and will assist in any way we can during the investigation being conducted by the Chattanooga Police Department. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the families involved in this tragic situation.”

The sign outside Southside Social says they will open Tuesday.

The investigation is ongoing and more will be released as it becomes available.
