CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Renderings for upgrade plans that will come to Soddy Daisy Middle School have been released.

The approximate $34 million project will be funded through the Hamilton County Commission’s facilities bond.

Construction is set to begin in October 2026.

Plans include updated classrooms and learning spaces, a new gymnasium and upgrades to the cafeteria.

Once completed, the school will accommodate up to 650 students to address current capacity needs and projected community growth, according to Hamilton County Schools.

“This project is a major investment in our students, educators, and the future of Soddy Daisy. I’m excited to continue moving forward with facilities projects that reflect our belief in the success of our schools and communities. When we create innovative spaces that foster creativity and learning, our students and staff can thrive in environments that support their growth, connection, and readiness for the future.

– Dr. Justin Robertson, HCS Superintendent said.

The construction will be phased to minimize disruption and is not expected to impact daily school operations.

The project is expected to be completed in fall of 2029.
