US Troops Enjoy MoonPies for the Holidays

At MoonPie, you can find 35,000 not-so-small tokens of appreciation; baked, bundled, and ready to ship to our troops.

Larry Webb, the purchasing manager at MoonPie, says, "All military personnel like to know what they go through is appreciated by the rank and file of the people of the nation that they’re serving."

Webb is also a Vietnam Veteran.

So, he knows first hand how it feels to bite into a piece of home while serving oversees.

Webb adds, "It brought a touch of sanity to otherwise hostile environment. It just boost our morale."

Webb hopes these MoonPies shipped to USO’s around the country will have a similar effect on our soldiers.

Webb adds, "I’m so happy that they’re treated like that versus the way Vietnam veterans were treated."

MoonPie and country music artist, Craig Morgan, spear headed this effort.

For six months they encouraged their fans to donate a MoonPie to a soldier.

This is the end result; tons of chocolate and tons of cookies.

It’s all for a priceless reaction … one of gratitude that can only be truly understood by other service men and women.
