Usher reschedules two more performances in Atlanta
UPDATE: Usher has announced he’s rescheduling his August 16 & 17 shows for his “Past, Present, Future” tour.
Usher announced the rescheduling on social media August 15, 2024.
In a statement, he said:
Earlier this week, I suffered an injury to my neck while rehearsing to provide my fans with the greatest USHER show of all time. My hope was that with physical therapy and medical treatment, I would be able to overcome the injury and be ready for opening night. Unfortunately, the injury has not healed yet, and my doctors have instructed me not to perform any shows this week. The good news is that the doctors are saying that with appropriate rest and treatment, I should be ready to commence the tour in Washington D.C. on August 20th.
I love my fans and thank you for understanding that this injury must be healed so that I can give you the 100% excellence that you expect from an USHER show and that I will be on stage in your city very soon.
The Chattanooga native goes onto say that the Atlanta dates have already been rescheduled.
The dates are as follows:
The August 14 show is rescheduled to December 9
The August 16 show is rescheduled to December 10
The August 17 show is rescheduled to December 12
ATLANTA, Ga. (WDEF) — Usher announced the cancelation of his first show on tour, “Past, Present, Future” last night, August 14, 2024.
The Chattanooga native said in a post on X that he needed to “give his body a second to rest and heal”.
Usher also said in the statement that this show would be rescheduled to a later date.
He went onto say that he knows this was disappointing to fans who’ve been waiting for this tour to start, and that he “wouldn’t be the entertainer that I am today if I can’t physically give you my best.”
This announcement comes months after headlining at this year’s ESSENCEFest, and also during this year’s Super Bowl halftime show.
The singer wrapped up a six-month-long residency in Las Vegas that began in July of 2022, and recently released a new studio album titled, “Coming Home”, February 9, 2024.
Usher said his team will announce the rescheduling of this show soon.
