UTC Criminial Justice course hosts Pouring with Purpose

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)-UTC’s Ethics in Criminal Justice hosted its annual Pouring with a Purpose event on Thursday. 

The project for students used to create abstract paintings that explore ethical dilemmas. 

The Paintings also help students understand potential solutions within the justice system.

All proceeds from the paintings that are purchased will go toward the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hamilton County,

“I am really interested in service learning and getting students kind of involved in service learning. I am in a research area in victimization, and I really like to help out victim service organizations when I can. so this event allows us to connect classroom ideas and concepts to being able to do that and allow my students to have that experience as well,” said Dr. Katelyn Hancock, Criminal Professor at UTC.

Dr Hancock also says the goal of this project is for student learn ethics in criminal justice while connecting students to community service.
