UTC Honors Local Heroes at Annual Veterans Day Luncheon

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) honored local heroes today during its annual Veterans Day Luncheon.

Students, staff, and community members gathered at the Wolford Family Athletic Center to celebrate those who have served in the armed forces.

Keynote speaker Terry Ellis, a UTC nursing professor and Army National Guard lieutenant, shared his experiences caring for injured soldiers and reflected on the deeper meaning of service beyond the battlefield.

“I’ve only been serving for around the 11-year mark, but with aspirations to serve more right, and not come from my history with my family being in for years and years, it’s really cool just if you sit back and think about just being a small piece of that—it’s very humbling,” Ellis said.

The luncheon concluded with a heartfelt message of gratitude to all veterans.

Happy Veterans Day to all.
