UTC Looks For March Miracle in NCAA Tourney Opener Against Number One Seed Virginia Tech

The UTC women’s basketball team will need the ultimate Cinderella story in the Big Dance.
They’re a 16 seed playing a number one seed in Virginia tech.
No 16 seed has ever beaten a one seed in the women’s tournament.
But hey, Mocs coach Shawn Poppie is a former Virginia tech assistant.
So he should have the perfect game plan right?

Said Poppie:”It’s funny. I’ve heard it all week. You should know how to guard them. Well I many know how to guard them, but it doesn’t mean we can guard them. All right. We’re going to give it our best shot. We’re excited for the opportunity to be here and to share a court and then the experience here in Blacksburg with everybody.”
Said guard Addie Porter:”Stay us. Don’t try to be anybody we’re not. It is going to be a tough task. But it has never been done before, so why not us.”

Tipoff from Blacksburg, Virginia is set for 5:30pm Friday. It will be televised on ESPNU.
