UTC Mocs Fever Sweeps Campus
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Excitement is at an all-time high on the campus of UTC as the Mocs make history.
For the first time ever, they are heading to the NIT finals, and students are showing their school pride in full force.
The Mocs are making history, and campus pride is soaring as students and fans celebrate the Mocs’ biggest postseason achievement.
Tuesday night’s victory secured their first-ever trip to the NIT finals, marking their deepest postseason run in school history.
UTC had made four previous appearances in the tournament during the 1980s but never advanced past the quarterfinals.
Now, decades later, they’ve broken through, defeating high-profile teams like Seton Hall and Indiana State along the way.
Head Coach Dan Earl, in just his second season, has led the Mocs on a remarkable turnaround, defying expectations and showcasing the strength of this program on a national stage.
Several watch parties will be taking place throughout campus
The excitement isn’t just on campus; UTC alumni and fans across the city are rallying behind the team, with local businesses even offering game-day specials to support the Mocs.
An official watch party is planned for tonight at the UTC University Center, where fans can gather to cheer on the Mocs together.
Tonight, we’ll see if the Mocs can bring home the trophy. Tip-off against UC Irvine is set for 9:00 pm ET.
