UTC Women Blow Out King’s Academy to Open Their Season
(gomocs.com) Chattanooga Mocs opened the 2023-24 season with an 88-32 win over King (TN) University Monday morning at the McKenzie Arena.
Freshman Hannah Kohn led all scorers with 17 points making 5-of-8 from the 3-point line. Hannah owns the 3-point career record for the state of Florida. Jada Guinn and Raven Thompson joined her in double figures with 16 points each. Thompson added six rebounds. The Mocs shot 60.7% from the field (34-56) and was 10-of-19 from the 3-point line (52.6%). Chattanooga went 10-of-11 from the free throw line with Thompson making 4-of-4.
Chattanooga will be on the road to Austin Peay this Friday, Nov. 10 and return home to host former SoCon rival Marshall on Sunday, Nov. 12. This will be the Thundering Herd’s first game in Chattanooga since leaving the Southern Conference in the 1996-97 season. Chattanooga won the game 63-60 in Maclellan Gym.
