UTC Women Feeling Confident Heading Into NCAA Tournament Opener

Knoxville, TN-(WDEF) The UTC women’s basketball team tips off in the NCAA tournament Saturday in Knoxville.

On Friday morning, the Mocs worked out at Thompson Boling Arena as they prepare for Pittsburgh.
UTC is taking a 25-game winning streak into the Big Dance, and their highest seed ever with a seven seed.
Chattanooga also owns two wins over top ten teams this season in Tennessee and Stanford.
Those victories make for a self-assured team, and they also caught the eye of UTC’s opening round opponent.
Said Pitt guard Briana Kiesel,"When I found out that Chattanooga beat them both I was … I was like wow! That is impressive"
Added Mocs guard Ka’Vonne Towns,"I think that definitely gives us some confidence just knowing that we can come out and just compete with any team and if we compete well enough we can actually win. So I think that gives us some confidence going into tomorrow."
The Mocs and Panthers tip at 11am.
