Vacant Church Fire in East Chattanooga

Chattanooga (WDEF) – A vacant church building burned Tuesday night in East Chattanooga on Tuesday night.

The blaze started outside the building at 2104 Fairleigh Street around 10:30 PM.

But when firefighters arrived, the flames had spread to the abandoned church itself.

They got it under control in about 20 minutes, saving most of the building.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
