Vehicle Stop Leads to Drug Bust
MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. — Two individuals have been arrested following a drug investigation in Monroe County.
A traffic stop of a vehicle led to the ultimate arrests of Margarette Brooks and Tyrone Fitz.
Investigators located methamphetamine inside the vehicle after being stopped.
The search also revealed Fitz had an active felony warrant out of Knox County, according to Sheriff Tommy Jones.
Following the traffic stop, a search was conducted at the couple’s residences in McMinn County.
The residence search resulted in the seizure of additional methamphetamine – more than 60 grams total, according to Jones.
A small amount of heroin was also seized.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Tenth Judicial District Drug Task Force, with assistance from the Sweetwater Police Department, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and the McMinn County Sheriff’s Office.
