Veteran Who Lost Everything in Tornado Given New Car

Bowling Green, KY (WDEF) – A veteran who lost everything when a tornado touched down in Bowling Green, Kentucky earlier this month now has a car again. It’s a gift from the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The car was presented to Chief Billy Burgett, a warrant officer for the CW3 Kentucky National Guard, outside a VFW post in Bowling Green Tuesday. It was donated by another VFW post in the state.

The tornado was part of a devastating tornado outbreak across eight states. It was the deadliest day of tornadoes during the month of December in US history.
