Victim shot during sale meetup with non-life-threatening injuries
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) is investigating a shooting that took place around 9:50 pm on Saturday, in the 1900 block of E 33rd Street.
According to the CPD, police responded and located an adult male suffering from multiple non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment by Hamilton County EMS.
The investigation shows the victim had arranged to meet an individual he had been communicating with on Facebook and arriving at the meeting location, the victim encountered two unidentified male suspects who pointed a firearm at him, stole items from him, then shot at him as he drove off in his vehicle.
The victim was able to get away and stopped at a gas station on Rossville Boulevard to ask for help.
Suspect identification remains pending, and investigators are actively working to develop leads and gather additional evidence.
