Victims Claim Stolen Property From Meigs County
You can hear the excitement in Daly’s voice as she sifts through almost half a million dollars worth of stolen property.
Some of the property is hers, some from a few counties away.
Daly adds, "I thought they’d have the automobiles broken down you know broken apart, sold. I never thought we’d see it again."
Nearly everything outside of Daly’s home was stolen a couple of months ago; their 4-wheeler, and yes, even their own personal vehicle.
Authorities believe Michael and Winter Kirby were behind it all.
Meigs County Sheriff, Jackie Melton adds, "So far, just two people behind this."
Investigators say the Kirby’s made it their job to steal nearly everything in sight for the last five months.
That even includes this American flag.
Sheriff Melton says, "Evidence will probably show they’ve sold most of it for the money."
The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office now looks more like a flea market
Sheriff Melton adds, "We recovered a brand new Kubota Tractor."
A tip from Madisonville Police ultimately ended this theft ring, and Daly couldn’t be happier to finally take home all the things she’s worked so hard to get.
Daly adds, "God bless them and thank you."
The Kirby’s are currently charged with theft and burglary in Meigs County.
However, deputies say they can expect charges in other counties as well.
If you still need to claim your stolen property, call the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office.
