Vision Loss Awareness Campaign

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – April is Women’s Eye Health and Safety Month, and May is Healthy Vision Month, both aimed at encouraging people to focus on protecting their vision.

Prevent Blindness is launching its “Best Eyes for Life” campaign during this time to raise awareness about how vision problems can develop without obvious warning signs.

The campaign features Iris and Cornelius to help share eye health and safety information for all ages.

A new survey from Prevent Blindness found most Americans believe they would notice if something was wrong with their eyes.

However, many eye conditions can develop slowly and without noticeable symptoms in the early stages.

Routine eye care and regular exams are highlighted as important steps for finding problems early.

The campaign focuses on prevention and early detection to help protect vision over time.
