Volkswagen Approves New SUV for America
Just hours ahead of its presentation at the North American International Auto Show today, Volkswagen announces a multi-billion dollar investment over the next five years.
VW’s C-E-O, Martin Winterkorn, says a midsize S-U-V for America is on its way. Winterkorn did not say where the new S-U-V would be built, but unnamed sources tell both Bloomberg and Reuters that Chattanooga is preferred over Puebla, Mexico for the new CrossBlue vehicle.
The CrossBlue debuted as a concept car at last year’s North American International Auto Show.
VW says it will likely be 2016 before the vehicle hits the market.
