Volkswagen recalling 91,000 Chattanooga Passats
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Volkswagen has announced a recall involving Passats made in Chattanooga.
It involves 91,000 Passat sedans that are 2013-14 models.
The problem is with wire seals in a connector for a sensor under the body.
Water could get into the wires and corrode electrical connectors to the sensor and cause a short, even a fire.
Your dealer will inspect the connector and replace it if necessary.
Volkswagen has not announced a notification plan yet, but you can call 800-893-5298, the NHTSA hotline at 888-327-4236 or www.safercar.gov for more info.
