Volkswagen’s New Hire in North America Quits
Frankfurt, Germany (WDEF) Volkswagen’s plans to rebuild trust in North America has hit an unexpected speed bump.
Less than 3 weeks ago, the company promoted the Czech division of Skoda to become head of their North American business.
He would have been Michael Horn’s boss.
Winfried Vahland was a rising star after leading VW’s expansion into China.
But now Skoda reports he is leaving the company after 25 years.
Vahland says he has a difference of opinion over how the company organizes its North American business.
His statement says "This decision is expressly not connected to the current events around the diesel topic."
