Vols Appear Snake Bit After Back-to-Back Buzzer-Beater Losses

Is the Vols basketball team jinxed? How else do you explain losing on a buzzer beating three…two games in-a-row. What are the odds of that happening?

Vandy did it Wednesday, and Mizzou followed up Saturday. What’s a head coach to do?

Said head coach Rick Barnes:”I think they know I’m going to be honest with them because we scrub out film and all of that. I think players can easily understand when you’re not being real with them. If I thought they needed a kick in the butt today, then that’s what i would give them. If I thought they needed that after the game, that’s what I would have given them. That’s not what I felt. Anytime you go through and deal with the kind of losses we’ve had. Every person has got to deal with it in their own way. But the fact is the one thing that has to happen as a team. You’ve got to stay connected, and this group of guys will stay connected.”

Vols certainly have a way to redeem themselves on Wednesday. Alabama rolls onto Rocky Top as the number one ranked team in the nation. The Tide was voted number one in the AP poll on Monday. First time they’ve held the nation’s top ranking in 20 years. Tipoff is set for 7 o’clock.
