Vols Basketball Coach Rick Barnes Does Not Know His Team’s Record

The Vols basketball team returns to action Saturday at four o’clock as they entertain Georgia.
Tennessee still has a lot of work to do if they’re going to make a run at the NCAA tournament.
The Vols are currently 14-10 overall, but head coach Rick Barnes is not caught up in his team’s record.
Said Barnes:”I’m telling you the honest truth. I’m not lieing to you right now. I have no idea what our overall record is. I have no idea. I don’t look at standings. I tell the guys. We don’t put up standings in there. We don’t put up where we are because it’s not about looking down the road to see where we are. It’s about today.”
Reporter:”Why would you not tell the players about the record? Do you thing that’s a distraction?”
Barnes:”Yeah. Because what does it matter? I mean I don’t want to take away the focus of what they’ve got to do.”
