Vols Guard Zakai Zeigler Grateful For Big Assist From Big Orange Nation

Vols freshman guard Zakai Zeigler already feels like a winner going to the SEC Tournament in Tampa. When his family lost all their possessions in a fire last month, Vols fans stepped up. A go-fund-me account was started to raise $50,000. Instead it raised over $350,000.

Said Zeigler:”Oh it meant everything. I didn’t even expect the support to be that much. I knew everybody had love for me. It blew me and my family away. Nothing but great words for Vol nation.”
Reporter:”When the go-fund-me went live were sitting there refreshing it a bunch, or did you just ignore it for a little bit and come back to it.”
Said Zeigler:”At first I refreshed it two or three times then let it sit. Somebody was like have you seen it? I was like no. I looked back, and I was like.” (laughter)
Reporter:”So what was your reaction when you saw it exceed 350-thousand?”
Said Zeigler:”Uh. Shhh. Exactly how I’m looking right now. I was just like. Is this real? I kept refreshing it swiping out the page. I was like there’s no way this is real right now. Words couldn’t even explain how I was feeling.”
