Vols-Memphis Basketball Rivalry Renews Saturday in Nashville

The pandemic sidelined the scheduled Vols-Memphis basketball game last year, but at least they were able to move it back to this year.
The two rivals will go at it Saturday at noon in Nashville.

The Tigers were in a funk before blowing out sixth ranked Alabama this week. Vols coach Rick Barnes knows he’ll get the best version of Memphis.

And maybe we’ll see the best version of Vols freshman Kennedy Chandler, who is a Memphis native.

Said Barnes:”Sometimes it takes teams a little bit longer than others to get going the way they need to get going. But the fact is, right now, you’ve got to say they are going because people say you are only as good as you last one. And their last one, they were as good as anybody.”
Said Chandler:”They bring great energy to the table. We’ve got to come out. Start of the game. Right at the jump bring the energy back towards them. We know we’ve got to play hard, and they play very aggressive.”
