Vols Not Concerned With Lane Kiffin Return on Saturday

The Alabama-Tennessee rivalry has been all Crimson of late with the Tide winning the last seven meetings.
And for the Vols to end the streak, they’ll have to beat one of their former head coaches.
Saturday’s game between the Tide and Vols marks the return of former Vols head coach Lane Kiffin.
He’s the offensive coordinator for Alabama. But the Vols aren’t concerned about a Kiffin homecoming.
Said head coach Butch Jones,"Well the game means everything to our program and our fans because it’s the University of Alabama not because it’s Lane Kiffin. He’s a great coach but nobody on our team knows who Lane Kiffin is."
Said defensive end Corey Vereen,"We just focus on playing football here. It’s our team against their team. We’re really not focused on the exterior things like Lane Kiffin or whoever is coming back. We’re focused on playing football."
Tennessee really can’t be worried with Kiffin.
They’re 0-3 in the SEC with a struggling offense.
Said Jones,"When you come up on the short end of things, everything becomes magnified. You don’t get the bounce of the football. You get an untimely penalties."
Got to be tough for the Vols offense heading into the Alabama game with the Tide coming off an impressive 59-0 win over Texas A&M.
Said Jones,"They played as an inspired of a football game that I’ve seen in a very, very long time against Texas A&M. They’re a great football team."
Saturday will mark Jones 20th game as the Vols head coach, and the 4th ranked Tide will mark the 10th top ten team Jones will have faced. That’s life in the SEC.
"I believe there are a number of SEC teams this year that have the ability and capabilities of winning the national championship. We’re playing a lot of them. We’re being competitive. We put ourselves in position to win those games, and we’ve come up short. That’s the disappointing thing, but also it’s an encouraging thing as well."
