Vols RB Jaylen Wright Close to 1,000 Yard Rushing Mark

The only bright spot for the Vols offensively against Georgia was running back Jaylen Wright.
He got Rocky Top rockin’ with a 75-yard touchdown run on the first play of the game.

Wright needs just 62 yards rushing against Vanderbilt this weekend to reach one-thousand yards for the season.

Wright is currently second in the nation in yards per carry, averaging over seven yards a carry.

But he’s not getting that many carries.

Head coach Josh Heupel explains why they don’t call on Wright more often.

Heupel:”We’ve got a good stable of backs. I do think they compliment each other. at the end of the game we definitely try to go with they guy who has got the hot hand. Proud of a young guy that. When we got here was a fast kid that would try to run around everybody. Now he has got great patience. Great vision and still has the homerun speed to take it the distance.”
