Vols Receiver Bru McCoy Making Early Impact For Tennessee

Knoxville, TN-(WDEF-TV) Boo birds at Neyland Stadium have been replaced by Bru Birds.
Vols fans chanting Bruuu! every time new receiver Bru McCoy makes a catch.
The Southern Cal transfer is making an early impact on Rocky Top.

Getting eligible just days before the Vols season kicked off was beyond a huge relief for Bru McCoy.
Said McCoy:”Just happy to be able to give something to the team. Provide something. Not just be a body that came in, and there was all this media behind it. Now I actually got the opportunity to come out and play and do something for the team. Just a big weight lifted off my shoulders.”
McCoy looked like a former five star recruit against Florida, racking up 102 yards receiving. Not bad filling in for the injured Cedric Tillman.
Said McCoy:”We work really hard every day to come and do a job. You try not to think too much about who’s on the field other than accomplishing what you came to do.”
Said head coach Josh Heupel:”We love Ced and recognize what he brings to the table. Somebody goes down. I don’t care what position or what unit that it’s on. Has to be a next man up mentality.”
McCoy admits the football environment on Rocky Top is a little different than the vibe on the west coast.
Said McCoy:”I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into in the best way ever. Couldn’t picture it. Couldn’t fathom it. The sound. The crowd. Everything. It’s an unbelievable experience. It’s surreal. I made the best decision I could have made coming here.”
